The German BSI federal cybersecurity agency suggests to uninstall Kaspersky antivirus

The German BSI federal cybersecurity agency suggests to uninstall Kaspersky antivirus, assuming that it could be used, against its management's will, to harm instead of protect its customers

Correctly, the BSI agency reminds that "any antivirus software, including the associated real-time cloud services, has extensive system permissions and must maintain a permanent, encrypted and non-auditable connection to the manufacturer's servers due to the system (at least for updates)."

Therefore, If there are doubts about the reliability of the anti-virus manufacturer, or any influence imposed by a Governmental institution, the software could turn from a protective measure, to a hostile backdoor that could pose serious risks to the hosting IT infrastructure.
